Immittance Audiometry

Immittance audiometry refers to an objective technique to determine the functioning of the middle year through three procedures namely, static immittance, measurement of the acoustic reflex threshold sensitivity, and tympanometry.
Immittance audiometry is a diagnostic tool that can accurately assess the middle ear and contributes towards the detection of middle ear effusion (accumulation of fluid) and may provide diagnostic information that is otherwise unobtainable. It is always better to get tested as early as possible since early diagnosis makes for better treatment outcomes.
